Why?

Why therapy? Why A New Hope? I’ve had many clients ask me, “How can therapy really help me? How can it change my circumstances? Change my life?” I believe the answer to these questions has many layers. Without question, there are many tools and techniques that can help you see, understand, and approach your circumstances in a different way.

But at the heart, the true core of therapy is the undeniable significance relationships have in our lives. Whether that’s your relationship with your parents, significant other, spouse, child, friend, your relationship with God, or nature, the significance of therapy is in the exploration of the most significant relationship of all: the one you have with yourself. That relationship, more than any other, will determine how you approach the challenges you’re facing in your life. It will affect the process of healing.

In therapy, we have the opportunity to build a relationship in a safe place through the development of a sacred trust. This process does not happen overnight, and if it did, we would likely never understand the significance of the journey.

If you are looking for that place, if you’re ready to start that journey, I want to provide a place where you know you are not alone.
